Wind Turbine Regulation Bill 2014
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would tighten rules for wind farms by requiring turbines over 25 metres high to be at least ten times their height from homes, limiting noise and shadow flicker, and requiring meaningful public consultation. It would also prevent electricity exports until Ireland has enough power for its own needs, require developers to pay for infrastructure damage and eventual recycling, and keep projects within local development plans.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to regulate wind turbines through providing limits on the exportation of product generated from wind turbines; protecting nearby dwellings from noise and shadow flicker by providing minimum set back distances; allowing access to public consultative processes and related matters
