Employers would generally be prevented from forcing employees to retire because of age if they remain capable and willing to do their jobs. Voluntary retirement incentives could continue, while security-related roles and retirement ages set directly by law would be exempt; the measure aims to reduce age discrimination and support older people’s financial independence.
