No. 33 of 2014

Thirty-fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Inclusive Budget Reform) Bill 2014

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

It would change the Constitution so that both the Irish and English texts of Article 17, section 2, are removed. In plain terms, it is a constitutional cleanup measure: it deletes a section from the text of the Constitution rather than creating a new policy or public service. That matters because any constitutional change is a very high-level legal change, and this one was proposed by a private member, Pearse Doherty.
