The proposal would amend Article 16 of the Constitution to lower the minimum voting age from 18 to 16. It would replace “eighteen years” with “sixteen years” in both the Irish and English versions of the Constitution, allowing 16- and 17-year-olds to vote in elections if the change were approved.
