The proposal would make company directors or other officers personally responsible for breaches of employment law by a company where they approved, enabled or negligently allowed the breach. It aims to prevent individuals from avoiding responsibility by acting through a company, while focusing liability on officers whose involvement or neglect contributed to the wrongdoing.
