Gradam an Uachtaráin Bill 2015

Gradam an Uachtaráin would create a national honour for Irish citizens who achieve exceptional things, and for people from other countries who make outstanding contributions to Ireland or wider society. Up to 12 people could receive it each year, including no more than four non-Irish citizens, across areas such as community work, education, healthcare, the arts, science, sport, business and leadership. An independent seven-member council would select candidates, subject to the Government accepting or rejecting its complete list, with the President presenting the awards.
