Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2015

Public bill · Government · Presented

The Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2015 would give national apartment standards greater force, requiring planning authorities to follow ministerial requirements on matters such as apartment size, lifts, parking and building design, rather than applying different local standards. It would also speed up changes to Strategic Development Zone plans, allowing An Bord Pleanála to approve significant modifications without restarting the entire process, while retaining environmental assessment and public consultation where needed. The aim was to support housing supply and make planning decisions more consistent and predictable.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Planning and Development Acts 2000 to 2015 and to provide for related matters
