Access to Public Services and Banking other than by Electronic Means Bill 2015

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would require public bodies to provide non-electronic ways to use their services, with help available from designated access officers for people who cannot use online systems. Banks would also have to offer access and assistance to customers who cannot use electronic systems or cash machines, although the Finance Minister could exempt banks that operate entirely online after consulting the Central Bank.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to ensure that services provided by public bodies and banking services are accessible by persons who are unable to access such services through information systems and to ensure that access to banking is provided to persons unable to operate an automatic teller machine.
