Migrant Earned Regularisation Bill 2015
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would create a scheme allowing some non-EEA nationals living in Ireland without valid permission to earn the right to stay lawfully. Applicants would generally need to have lived in Ireland continuously for at least two years, pass security and criminality checks, and apply within six months; successful applicants would initially receive renewable one-year permission to live, work, study and access specified services. Participants would build credits through employment, tax contributions, family or community involvement, education, residence and language skills, with long-term residence available after meeting the required total; refusals and failures could be appealed.
