Teaching Council (Amendment) Bill 2015
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure would give the Teaching Council clearer powers to vet teachers when they register or renew registration, and to investigate concerns about their fitness to teach, with a stronger focus on protecting children and vulnerable adults. It would also improve complaint and disciplinary procedures, including new written warnings, possible suspension or removal from the register, and court decisions about whether suspended teachers should continue receiving public pay.
