Public Electronic Communications Networks (Improper Use) Bill 2015

Would make it an offence to use public electronic communications networks—including social media and messaging services—to send grossly offensive, indecent, obscene, menacing or knowingly false messages intended to cause distress or annoyance, or to persistently misuse them for that purpose. Penalties could include fines, imprisonment and confiscation of equipment.
