National Cultural Institutions (National Concert Hall) Bill 2015

The measure would replace the existing National Concert Hall company with a publicly established National Concert Hall, responsible for running Ireland’s national venue for music and supporting concerts, education, participation and creative work. It would create a nine-member board, provide for a chief executive and staff, and require annual reports, audited accounts and oversight by Oireachtas committees, while keeping the Hall independent from day-to-day political direction. Existing staff, property, contracts, rights and responsibilities would transfer to the new body, with staff protections maintained.

Bill entitled an Act to provide for the establishment of a body to be known in the Irish language as An Ceoláras Náisiúnta or in the English language as the National Concert Hall to provide and operate the national venue for the performance, appreciation and enjoymentof music; and to provide for related matters.
