The Parental Leave (Amendment) Bill 2015 would give employees paid bereavement leave when a close family member dies, including a child, spouse or partner, parent, grandparent, sibling, or someone for whom the employee acted as a parent. It would allow up to three working days in any 12-month period, or five days over 36 months, with employees required to notify their employer and confirm the circumstances.
