Public Services and Procurement (Social Value) Bill 2015

The Public Services and Procurement (Social Value) Bill 2015 would require public bodies, when buying services, to consider how contracts could improve the local economy, society and environment, alongside delivering the service. They would also have to consider requirements such as recruiting or training people, creating opportunities for small businesses and community organisations, encouraging innovation, and offering subcontracting work, while complying with EU procurement rules.
