Electoral (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2015
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Electoral (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2015 would allow candidates in Seanad university elections to send one election communication free of postage to every registered voter in their constituency. It would also formally recognise the Association of Irish Local Government as the body entitled to nominate candidates for the Seanad administrative panel, replacing two organisations it had succeeded. Finally, it would let people who became Irish citizens after the annual electoral-register qualifying date apply to be added to the supplementary register, so they could vote.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Seanad Electoral (University Members) Act 1937, the Seanad Electoral (Panel Members) Act 1947 and the Electoral Act 1992
