The Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2015 would allow Ireland to ratify and operate the EU agreement supporting the Single Resolution Fund, used to manage failing banks. It would update the deposit guarantee system, including transitional funding, payments if banks fail, and repayment to the Central Bank where it uses its own resources; keep insurance rules in place for firms outside the new EU Solvency II regime; and clarify the treatment of certain investments transferred to the Irish Strategic Investment Fund.
