Criminal Justice (Offences Relating to Information Systems) Bill 2016
Public bill · Government · Presented
Sets out new criminal offences for hacking and other attacks on computers and networks, including illegal access, disrupting systems, tampering with data, intercepting data, and providing tools or passwords to carry out those crimes. It also gives Gardaí powers to seek search warrants in these cases, sets penalties, and says companies can be held responsible where offences are committed on their behalf. It updates older Irish laws on criminal damage, bail, and criminal justice so they cover modern cybercrime more cleanly and match EU rules.
Formal long title
