Famine Memorial Day Bill 2016

Sets a fixed date for Ireland’s official Famine remembrance event: the State commemoration for Famine Memorial Day would be held on the second Sunday in May every year. It also names the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs as the responsible Minister and says any administration costs would come from public funds, with the law taking effect as soon as it is passed.
