No. 32 of 2016

Thirty-fifth Amendment of the Constitution (Right to a Home) Bill 2016

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would add a new constitutional right to housing, stating that all citizens have a right to adequate, suitable, secure, safe and affordable homes. It would also require the State to use its laws and policies to take proper steps to make that right real, guided by social justice. It matters because it would place housing much more firmly at the centre of State responsibility.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Constitution.
