Au Pair Placement Bill 2016
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would create a regulated framework for au pair arrangements, which would involve living with a host family for up to one year and doing no more than 30 hours of light household work each week in return for accommodation, hospitality and pocket money. It would establish an Au Pair Accreditation Council to approve and monitor agencies, require written contracts to be registered, and provide a process for handling disputes and complaints. Ministerial regulations could set further rights and responsibilities for au pairs, host families and agencies.
Formal long title
