Housing (Sale of Local Authority Housing) Bill 2016
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The measure would let a local authority sell a home it got through the planning system to the tenant living in it, including homes transferred under agreements linked to new housing developments. It matters because it gives tenants in those homes a route to buy their house, rather than remaining lifelong renters of council-owned housing.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to enable a housing authority to sell a dwelling acquired by a housing authority under Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 to a tenant of such a dwelling
