Finance Bill 2016

Public bill · Government · Presented

Finance Bill 2016 changes a wide range of taxes and reliefs. It lowers some income charges for workers, raises credits for carers and certain workers, offers a new rebate for first-time buyers of new homes, extends supports for home renovations and business start-ups, and cuts some capital gains and deposit-interest tax rates over time. It also tightens anti-avoidance rules, updates tax treatment for landlords, farmers and fishermen, extends some fuel, vehicle and energy tax reliefs, raises inheritance tax-free thresholds, and keeps higher charges on tobacco and a levy on some financial institutions.

Formal long title
