Micro-plastic and Micro-bead Pollution Prevention Bill 2016

Bans the sale or manufacture of cosmetics, soaps and similar products that contain tiny plastic micro-beads, with fines for breaches. It also requires the Environmental Protection Agency to monitor micro-plastic and micro-bead pollution each year in Irish waters and the wider environment, including wildlife and Natura 2000 sites, and to report the findings and recommendations to the Minister and the Oireachtas, with the results published publicly.
