Social Welfare Bill 2016
Public bill · Government · Presented
Raises a range of social welfare payments, including pensions, jobseeker payments, disability supports, carer and family supports, by mostly €5 a week, with larger increases for guardian payments. It also expands access for self-employed people to certain benefits and treatment supports, increases the earnings limit for lone parents on one-parent family payment, and restores some farm assist income protections. In plain terms, it means more money for many people on welfare and some wider eligibility and technical changes to the system.
Formal long title
