National Asset Management Agency (Amendment) Bill 2017

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would let NAMA and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund play a bigger role in tackling Ireland’s housing shortage by supporting social and affordable housing. It would add housing stability as an explicit purpose for NAMA, allow it to review its property holdings with that goal in mind, and make housing a stated area of investment for the Strategic Investment Fund. In plain terms, it aims to use these public bodies to help bring more homes into the market and support a steadier housing system.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the National Asset Management Agency Act 2009 and the National Treasury Management Agency (Amendment) Act 2014 to empower NAMA and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund to contribute to the stability of the housing system through the provision of social and affordable housing
