Regional Technical Colleges (Amendment) Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Adds a new way to appoint members to the governing bodies of regional technical colleges so that areas served by a college can be represented even when those areas fall outside the education and training board area where the college is based. It would let the Minister require nominations from other relevant boards, and it also allows governing bodies to be enlarged, up to 21 ordinary members, to make room for those extra appointees. In plain terms, it is about giving nearby regions a voice in how a college is run.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the representation on governing bodies for regions served by a college outside of the functional areas of an education and training board in which the college is situated; for that purpose to amend section 6 of the Regional Technical Colleges Act 1992; and to provide for related matters
