Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) (Amendment) Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Would make sure a person’s advance healthcare directive is followed even when their treatment is under mental health law or when they are subject to a conditional discharge after an insanity-related case. It also removes wording that could override that directive, and the wider aim is to strengthen the rights of people in mental health and forensic care while improving mental health services.
