Prohibition of Fossil Fuels (Keep it in the Ground) Bill 2017

It would stop the Government from granting, renewing, restoring or extending licences for searching for, drilling for, or producing petroleum, both on land and offshore. It also sets out climate principles to guide how national land and waters should be managed, including climate justice, caution about climate damage, and a fast, fair move to a safer low-carbon economy.

Bill entitled an Act to prohibit the issuing, renewal, reinstatement, or extension of any licence or other exploitation rights for the exploration, extraction, production or prospecting of all forms of petroleum onshore or offshore and to provide for related matters.
