No. 148 of 2017

Harbours (Amendment) Bill 2017

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

Raises the maximum time certain harbour directors can stay in office to 10 years in total. It changes the rules in both the 1996 and 2015 harbour laws, while still exempting employee directors from that limit. The point is to keep board terms capped, but in a way that also allows continuity where staff representatives are involved.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Harbours Act 1996 and the Harbours Act 2015 with regard to the maximum term of office allowed to certain directors of harbours and to provide for connected matters.
