Sea-Fisheries (Amendment) Bill 2017
Public bill · Government · Presented
Keeps Ireland’s right to control fishing in its waters, while also formally allowing sea-fishing boats from Northern Ireland to fish within 0 to 6 nautical miles of the Irish baseline. Those Northern Ireland boats would have to follow the same rules as Irish boats while using that access, reflecting the existing reciprocal fishing arrangements between Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. It is mainly a technical update to existing practice and is not expected to cost the State anything.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend section 10 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006 and to provide for related matters
