Rural Equality Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Public bodies would have to think about how their decisions affect people in rural Ireland and aim to reduce the social and economic gaps they face. Before introducing major measures, they would need to carry out and publish rural impact assessments, consult affected groups, and set out ways to limit harm or consider better alternatives. The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine would issue guidance, review the schemes, and report annually to the Oireachtas.
Formal long title
