Sale of Tickets (Sporting and Cultural Events) Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A ticket-touting clampdown for major sports and cultural events: it would make it an offence to resell tickets for more than 10% above face value, stop people from advertising or selling tickets before the official release, and give Gardaí powers to arrest, search and seize tickets. It also lets courts strip away profits from illegal touting, gives charities an exemption, and asks the Minister to explore a voluntary refund or ticket-exchange system for consumers.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to regulate the selling of tickets for certain sporting and cultural events; and to provide for related matters
