No. 46 of 2017Parental Leave (Amendment) Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would increase the amount of parental leave parents can take from 18 weeks to 26 weeks. It would also give parents who have already used the current maximum of 18 weeks a further 8 weeks of leave for a qualifying child. That matters because it would give families more time to care for young children and better balance work and family life.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Parental Leave Act 1998.
