Companies (Amendment) Bill 2017

Public bill · Government · Presented

Allows certain Irish holding companies to keep using US accounting rules for longer, extending the current deadline from 2020 to 2030. It also adds a new condition: only companies formed in Ireland before the law starts can qualify. This matters because it gives eligible companies more time and certainty about how they prepare their accounts, with no cost to the State.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend section 279 of the Companies Act 2014; and to provide for related matters.
