Local Government (Establishment of Town Councils Commission) Bill 2017

Creates a Local Government Commission to review whether town councils should exist, where their boundaries should be, and how they should be structured and funded. The commission would be independent, take account of population, geography and county boundaries, invite public submissions, and report to the Minister within six months, after which the Minister would have to publish the report and bring forward any proposed changes within another six months.

Bill entitled an Act to allow for the creation of a Local Government Commission to carry out a review and make recommendations relating to the establishment and boundaries of a town council system and to provide for related matters.
