Autism Spectrum Disorder Bill 2017
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A national autism strategy would be created and led by the Health Minister to reduce the uneven access to autism services around the country. It would set out how children and adults with autism should be assessed, supported and cared for throughout their lives, with clear responsibilities for government departments, the HSE and other public bodies. The plan would also require better data collection, regular progress reports, staff training, and a public awareness campaign so services are more consistent and families know what to expect.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the development and implementation of a cross-departmental multi-agency Autism Spectrum Disorder Strategy and to provide for related matters
