Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Bill 2017
Public bill · Government · Presented
Ireland is being given legal approval to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and accept its founding rules. It also allows the State to make payments to and receive money from the Bank, so Ireland can take part in its work funding major infrastructure projects. This matters because membership would connect Ireland to a new international development bank with a focus on investment in transport, energy, and other large-scale projects across Asia.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the approval of the terms of the Articles of Agreement of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank; to provide for payments under that agreement; and to provide for related matters
