National Minimum Wage (Removal of Sub-minimum Rates of Pay) Bill 2017

Raises the floor on pay by removing lower minimum-wage rates for anyone aged 16 or over and for workers in their first two years of employment. It would require employers to pay at least the full national minimum hourly rate to those workers, and it sets out offences and penalties for employers who fail to do so.

Bill entitled an Act to amend the National Minimum Wage Act 2000 to end sub-minimum rates of pay for those who have attained the age of 16, and for those who are entering their first two years of employment.
