Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The measure would make it illegal to resell, advertise, or offer tickets for major sporting, musical, or theatrical events at more than the official price, including any booking fee shown at the original sale. It also gives Gardaí power to arrest suspected touts without a warrant, search premises if needed, and seize the tickets involved, with a maximum fine of €5,000 for each offence. Sales by charities, or by community and voluntary groups acting with the organiser’s written permission, would be exempt.
