No. 95 of 2017

Roads (Amendment) Bill 2017

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The Roads (Amendment) Bill 2017 would let vehicles used by Coastguard, Civil Defence and RNLI members avoid road tolls when they are being used for their rescue duties. It adds these sea and river rescue teams to the list of vehicles already exempt from tolls, so they would not be charged while responding to emergencies. The point is to make it easier and cheaper for rescue services to do their work, especially when speed matters. It was introduced as a private member’s bill by Aengus Ó Snodaigh.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Roads Act 1993 to exempt sea and river rescue teams from road tolls and to provide for related matters
