Finance (African Development (Bank and Fund) and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2018
Public bill · Government · Presented
Ireland would join the African Development Bank and African Development Fund, and the State would be allowed to make the required payments to both bodies. It also updates two existing laws so they work with this membership arrangement and with related financial matters. The point is to let Ireland take part in institutions that support development in Africa, while putting the legal and funding arrangements in place at home.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the approval of the terms of the Agreement Establishing the African Development Bank; to provide for the approval of the terms of the Agreement Establishing the African Development Fund; to provide for payments under those agreements; to amend the International Finance Corporation Act 1958 and the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997; and to provide for related matters.
