Health and Social Care Professionals (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Government · Presented
Keeps certain health and social care professionals from having to have their qualifications checked a second time by CORU if those non-Irish qualifications were already recognised in Ireland before statutory registration began. It would treat those earlier recognised qualifications as approved qualifications for registration, saving applicants time and money and making it easier for them to join the register. The change matters because it removes an extra hurdle for professionals whose training the State has already accepted.
Formal long title
Bill entitled and Act to amend the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 to provide for the recognition of certain professional qualifications as approved qualifications within the meaning of section 38 of that Act; and to provide for related matters.
