Freedom Of Information (Oversight of the Office of the President) (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would remove the current exemption that keeps records about the President out of the freedom of information system, so the Office of the President could receive information requests like other public bodies. That would make the President’s office more open to public scrutiny and could improve transparency around how it operates. The change would take effect within three months of being passed.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Freedom of Information Act 2014 to allow for the Office of the President of Ireland to be subject to freedom of information requests; and to provide for related matters.
