Regulation of Intimate Piercing and Tattooing Bill 2018

Sets a legal minimum age of 18 for intimate piercings and tattooing, with limited exceptions only for medical reasons in the case of tattoos. It also gives the Health Service Executive powers to set health and safety rules for piercing and tattoo businesses, inspect premises, use test purchases, and keep a public list of businesses or people found to have broken the rules. The aim is to protect minors and improve standards in the industry.

Bill entitled an Act to make it an offence to carry out an intimate piercing or a tattoo on a person aged below 18 years and to regulate piercing and tattoo businesses.
