Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Government · Presented
Extends funding for the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission for another three years from January 2019, with a spending cap of €422.27 million. It also gives a legal footing to the Parliamentary Budget Office and the Office of Parliamentary Legal Advisers, so they can provide independent financial analysis and legal support to members and committees. The measure also lengthens the review cycle for the official Irish language standard used in legislation and makes it easier for the Commission to act in legal cases when the Dáil or Seanad is not sitting.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003; and to provide for related matters.
