Public Service Superannuation (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Government · Presented
Raises the age barrier that was unintentionally blocking people aged 55 to 59 from being considered for the top Garda jobs of Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner if they apply from outside the force. It keeps the normal fitness and capability checks in place, but removes the rule that had narrowed the pool of candidates, so external applicants can compete on the same basis as internal candidates.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004; and to provide for related matters.
