Arts (Dignity at Work) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The measure would let the Arts Council make grants conditional on recipients following employment law and workplace safety rules. For any recipient getting €100,000 or more, funding would be tied to ongoing compliance with rules on working time, equality and harassment, workplace relations, and risk assessments at work. If the Workplace Relations Commission found a breach and the recipient did not fix it, the Council could reduce or stop the funding. It would also give the chair of the Council the responsibilities of an accounting officer for that spending, so there is clearer oversight of public money.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to enable the Arts Council to ensure that funding is contingent on compliance with employment law and for that purpose to amend the Arts Act 2003; and to provide for related matters
