Residential Tenancies (Greater Security of Tenure and Rent Certainty) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Aims to give renters more stability and clearer rent rules by changing the residential tenancy laws. It would tighten limits on rent rises, protect tenants when a landlord’s property is in financial trouble, make some tenancies last indefinitely unless a valid reason to end them exists, restrict the reasons a landlord can end a tenancy for family use or redevelopment, and let tenants see information needed to check whether their rent is lawful.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Residential Tenancies Acts 2004 to 2016 so as to provide for greater security of tenure and rent certainty for tenants, and to provide for connected matters
