Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A landlord would have to give tenants longer notice before ending a tenancy, with the notice period increasing in stages depending on how long the tenancy has lasted. Rent information on each registered property would also have to be kept by the Residential Tenancies Board and made available free of charge to new tenants on request, so they can see the rent paid by the previous tenant. The fines for certain offences under the residential tenancies rules would be increased from €3,000 to €15,000.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 to extend the minimum notice period for a tenancy termination by a landlord, to make rent data available to tenants, and to increase the maximum value of fines applying
