National Monuments (The Moore Street Battlefield) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Moore Street, Henry Place, and the surviving buildings and routes linked to the 1916 rising in central Dublin would be formally treated as a national monument. That would give those places stronger protection under Ireland’s heritage laws, recognising them as part of the last headquarters of the 1916 Provisional Government and the route taken by volunteers leaving the GPO.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 for the purpose of deeming certain parts of Moore Street, and its environs, in the City of Dublin to be a national monument for the purposes of those Acts; and to provide for related matters
